Art is Like Individuals

Art is like individuals. I mean, if Shakespeare didn’t write Hamlet, there wouldn’t be anybody else come along and write it. If Michelangelo hadn’t painted the Sistine Chapel, nobody else would come along and do it. But id Einstein hadn’t discovered the slight differences in Newton’s theory, somebody else would do it. If we didn’t send a man to the Moon now, somebody else in two hundred years will. And this is the difference – art is something like creating another individual, almost. In that way, it’s more unique, and for me is more special, more a miracle of life, than science.
